New guy long term project

Postby Fatmanskinny » August 6th, 2016, 12:34pm

New guy here from Ohio. Member of other forums but find the meaning and backing of this site much more meaningful. Currently working on project patina. I have a 2004 Silverado which has deteriorated over time but thanks to the great gm paint quality I have been given a great opportunity. I have peeling clear coat and rust throughout the cab. Yet behind the ranch hand grill and the 36 inch light bar sits a strong 5.3. I guess you could say it's a natural project done mother nature's way. I look forward to getting to know everyone and helping out were I can

It was great to meet you last weekend at the Carlisle Truck Nationals. Hope you and your dad can make WM your virtual home.

Awesome to see another NBS truck reborn. Still one of my favorite trucks. The peeling clear coat and rust under the body trim were issues with mine. Fortunately a bit of hard work and she's like a different truck.

These 5.3 are great motors. My last one went to 320,000 miles for me. That was a 1999 1500 Z71. Still is out there running today. Never had a trans or engine rebuilt or even pulled when I had it.
